This session is divided into two labs focused on working in Oracle Visual Builder:
Lab 1: Create and Publish a Web Application in Oracle Visual Builder
You'll learn how to leverage the visual development experience of Oracle Visual Builder to accelerate application development. Objectives of this lab are:
- Create responsive web interfaces leveraging Oracle JET components and the Redwood look and feel.
- Bind the interface to business objects that store your data in a database.
- Visually define your application logic flows.
- Create a complete app developing both the front-end and back-end of the app, with Oracle's JavaScript/HTML/REST based dev tool.
Lab 2: Building Redwood Application Experiences with the Oracle Applications Platform
In this lab, you'll see how Oracle Redwood templates can enhance your Apps extensions. Take-aways:
- See how the combination of the Redwood Design System plus the Oracle Applications Platform gives you a powerful and easy way to extend Oracle Fusion Cloud Apps.
- Get more hands-on experience with Oracle Visual Builder Studio with its low-code app designer, source code management, and team development features, and create SaaS extensions.
- Leverage the same development platform and design system that Oracle uses to build Fusion applications, and see how developers, customers, and partners get the same benefits for their extensions and custom applications.

| Biographical Sketch: |
I started programming in 1995. For most of my career, I've used Oracle tools to build applications, beginning with Oracle Forms and Reports. I've worked a little with Node.js, Java, Python & Ruby, both inside and outside the database, and of course a whole bunch of SQL and PL/SQL.
I am borderline obsessed with automating as much as I can. This has drawn me to CI/CD tools and, of course, the cloud! I have a deep love of learning and sharing what I've learned with other people. If I know something and you think I can help, just let me know. |
