|Biographical Sketch:||Oracle ACE Director Daniel Morgan has more than 25 years of experience working with Oracle products. Daniel wrote the Oracle curriculum for the University of Washington, was the programís primary instructor for 10 years, is the Morgan behind the MorgansLibrary.org website, and is currently the Principal Adviser to the Meta7 division of Forsythe.
Daniel began his IT career in the early 1970s with Fortran IV on mainframes, spent more than a decade writing COBOL, and moved into relational databases in the mid-1980s, focusing primarily on the Oracle Database. He brings to each engagement a wide range of industry experience, including high technology companies, ecommerce, telecommunications, finance, aerospace, biomedical, hospitality, retail, energy, manufacturing and distribution, travel and entertainment, and public sector.
In addition to his work at the University of Washington, Danielís academic credentials include teaching Oracle at Harvard University; guest lectures at the University of Oslo (Norway), University of Canterbury (New Zealand), and Universidad Latina de Panama; and adviser to the outreach program at the University of California, Berkeley.
Danielís core competency is core database and data integration focusing on stability, security, and scalability. He began his Oracle career coding SQL and PL/SQL, after almost a decade moved into the development and operations DBA role, and over the years expanded his focus to include servers, storage, networking, and their relationship to both stable architecture and Root Cause Analysis.
In addition to his work in the US, Daniel has worked in Canada, Japan, Mexico, and Norway and has taught classes and seminars at conferences in 25 countries on four continents and at 49 user groups and organizations.
